FMR Presentations 2024.

Margaret River really turned it on today. With 5 games on and four FMR teams in the running to win each age group’s trophy, the scent of anticipation (and sausages) was in the air and expectations were high!

With the sun high in the sky, two games that went in to not one, but two lots of extra time and came down to the wire (well done Sharks and Blaze) and some fireworks (RIP BBQ), FMR put on a show!

Round 17 - the last game of the season for most of our teams this week.  This coming weekend is the Cup Finals for four of our FIFA teams, and then our Coaches, and Volunteers can all enjoy a much deserved rest.  Even if it is a short one for our Country Week Coaches and families!  36 of 135 Country Week players are from FMR and it’s really great to see the depth of talent we have, not just in FMR, but the Association as a whole.

Round 16 and the season is quickly drawing to a close, with some teams having played their last game this weekend due to byes next week.

Round 15 was a mixed bag weather wise.  Some teams had nothing but sunshine, and others got caught in the rain and hail!  It was a very cold windy day here in Margs, and another day of muddy boots on the pitch.

Luckily the rain mainly held off as FMR hosted the Belt Up ball presentation, with Jane Kelsbie, Member for Warren-Blackwood coming along to take in the action, meet with Club reps and present the Belt Up balls.  Members from LNJSA Clubs, Football West CPO Mathew Adams and LNJSA President Pete Harding in attendance.

Match Reports are a bit light on for Round 14.  Between some teams have a Bye weeks, and all Busselton home games cancelled due to pitch flooding, those who did play had a wet and muddy time of it.

Round 13 and another welcome break from the rain this week. We had a very warm match in Busselton! It’s getting to the pointy end of the Season, and the FIFA teams are eyeing off the Ladder with an aim to take out top spot, while our Mini-Roos are enjoying showing off their ever growing skills and kicking goals.

Hard to believe it’s August and Round 12! The Season is flying past! The sun was back on Saturday in a welcome respite from the weeks storms and heavy rainfall. Monday’s night games were not so lucy, with the rain back for the games in Busselton.

Round 11 and a welcome respite from the winter rain this week, with our teams enjoying a welcome return to the sunshine, even if the pitches were still a bit soggy from the weeks rain.

And we’re back! After a three week break, FMR was back on the pitch for Round 10 and the second part of the season. The weather wasn’t always great, but that didn’t stop our teams from playing fast and hard. Even if they were soaking wet!

Round 9 and we are half way through the season!  It’s been great so far with the successful Jillaroos program, seeing our kids out there in our new kit and the canteen cranking!  

Saturday was a very cold and windy day for our home teams, making conditions difficult. Sounds like the away teams had similar weather!

Hard to believe it’s Round 8 and almost half way through the season! This week saw sunny weather in Busselton and Dunsborough, but dark clouds looming in Margaret River. The weather didn’t deter the U12’s who participated in their first FIFA Cup Quarter Finals! With 2 teams playing in Margs, and the other in Duns, there were mixed results, but everyone gave it their all in a difficult round robin.

Round 7 started early this week with our U13 Warriors taking on the Development Squad in Busselton under lights on Monday night. Always a great game and good experience for the players.

We battled through some heavy weather this week with some teams being lucky to stay dry, while others got drenched. Mother Nature giving us a preview of what’s to come.

Round 6 saw a few teams getting wet with a preview of what’s to come when winter finally makes an appearance.  I had the opportunity to sit and take it all in this week, and it was so good to see the minny-est of Mini-Roos practicing their kicks after their games and excitedly reviewing their teams performance. These kids are the future of our Club and it’s so great to see such focus and commitment at the youngest levels. Our future is in good “feet” so to speak!

Round 5 and we were greeted with yet another sunny day. We had 19 home games this week which is our biggest week at home so far! We are super excited to debut our new Kit/Coach bags thanks to new sponsor Yahava KoffeeWorks Margaret River! Thank you so much for your support

Round 4 saw us blessed with more sunshine after a wet and wild Friday. It’s so good to see so many kids in the region getting out there and loving soccer! Our teams are gelling together to get some good results, and most of all, it’s great to see so many happy faces enjoying the game.

Round 3 and Mother Nature sent us a reminder that soccer is a winter sport!  How good was the rain though?  Didn’t dampen any spirits on the pitch.

This week saw FMR hosting the Girls Only Jillaroos tournament on Friday night.  Was a great thing to see all the regions young ladies out there playing with gusto, even if they did get a bit wet!  With music pumping and the Canteen doing a roaring trade, it was a great night.

Round 2 and boy are we looking schmick in our brand new kit! I think it’s safe to say the kids love it! Due to higher than expected players numbers, we couldn’t outfit all teams, but the top up order should arrive soon for the rest. Another day of sunshine and smiles as the players met on the field for the second game of the season.

What a spectacular start to our 2024 Season! This year, we have seen our player numbers increase off the charts. With 320 juniors, in 26 teams this year. It’s the biggest numbers we have ever had.
